"The essence of Applied Equine Podiatry is the conscientious study of the equine foot, always striving to expose it to proper environmental stimuli, making every effort to promote proper structure and function, as we attempt to achieve high performance." - K C La Pierre

What is an Applied Equine Podiatrist? An applied Equine Podiatrist uses the High Performance Trim (HPT) Method developed by KC La Pierre. I know a lot about horse’s hooves, their correct structure, their function, and how to trim them so they are in balance, so that the horse has the healthiest possible feet. I also look at nutrition, exercise and living arrangements and I know that the horse has got the inate ability to heal itself, given the right environment.

I am not a farrier – I remove the shoes, balance the feet and look at the whole horse to give the horse the best opportunity to achieve the best possible performance and health.
